Particularly exciting are the Empire books, written with Janny Wurtz. They parallel the beginning books, but tell the story through the eyes of an inhabitant of the world Kelewan, which has invaded Midkemia. They flesh out the characters in the other books and give you another point of view to a story you didn't want to end in the first place.
